Sutton College has been operating in the London Borough of Sutton for nearly 50 years, providing the local community with a variety of courses and qualifications. Once known as Sutton College of Liberal Arts, its arts and crafts department has always been a thriving area of the college, offering a huge range of courses to beginners and renowned artists alike.
Throughout the years, many art works were purchased by or donated to the College by both acclaimed artists and also students. Examples of some better known pieces, now sold at private auction, were those by Elizabeth Frink and Ron Kitaj.
There are over 50 items remaining, featuring some well known names such as John Brunsdon and Ralph Brown. This auction provides a chance for the local community to purchase these pieces, potentially for a very reasonable amount!
The auction of these items will take place on Thursday 26th October at Sutton College with viewing time allocated from 6pm and the auction beginning at 7pm, with a special guest auctioneer.
Prior to this, all art works being auctioned can be viewed in the Starkey Gallery on the first floor at Sutton College. There will also be several non-auction pieces available for immediate purchase in our in a discounted area too, these can be viewed on the night.
