Have you ever wanted to learn exactly what makes strong design and advertising that gets the response that you want? How do you get ideas and then develop those into a finished design? Why are colour and font choices so important? How do I create a ‘Call to Action?’ for customers? How can I use IT to help me? Come along and find the answers to these and many other questions.
What are the overall aims of the course?
Discover what works well and what common mistakes are seen when promoting your Business or Product.
Guidance through the stages of the design process to develop a simple advert on paper.
This will then be developed on the computer using either Microsoft or Adobe software.
What will I learn on the course?
A clear guide to what makes a strong advertisement for your business or product.
The design process; The brief, research, ideas, development from paper to screen
Guidelines on basic principles of good advertising design
Explore the use and impact of type, spacing, colour and logo devices.
Some relevant IT basics.
Are there any entry requirements?
Ability to understand spoken English
Some knowledge of design or creative skills would be useful
Sound basic IT skills

Classroom based (including practical work where applicable)

Does the course have any features I should be aware of?
These classes will be taught on PCs. You will have access to a range of Adobe or Microsoft Software. You can bring your own laptop with software if you wish.

How do I find out if I can get some support for my learning?
Additional Learning Support (ALS) may be made available for learners who, at the time of assessment and/or enrolment, declare a difficulty or disability that may affect their learning. Our service can support learners in English, maths, who are dyslexic, deaf or hearing impaired or who have evidence of other medical issues impacting on learning. You will be issued with a Sutton College e-mail address, which will give you access to Sutton College’s Virtual Learning Environment, called VERA.
