Drama and theatricality are keywords when describing art produced during the Baroque period. This is the time of Bernini and Caravaggio, the major renovations of the Vatican and the dramatic ceilings of Carracci.
What are the overall aims of the course?
The aim of the course is to explore the main qualities of Baroque period and consider the art created in Rome at this time.

What is Baroque and the historical context in which it evolved.
