The Level 1 City and Guilds in Computerised Accounts is perfect if you are seeking an introduction in using computerised accounts software. You will develop your basic competency, allowing you to use the application independently for routine activities. This course for you is ideal for acquiring the skills needed to gain possible employment in a computerised accounts environment

Purpose of Course 

The aim of this course is to help students understand how to create accounts, process accounting information in respect of the Sales and Purchase ledgers, understand how to calculate batch totals and to be able to produce accounting reports such as trial balance, customer/supplier activity and detail reports.

You will learn the following on the course:

How to set up suppliers, customers and nominal expense accounts

How to process sales and purchase invoices & credit notes

How to process supplier cheque paid & customer cheque received

How to process capital introduced (cash and bank)

How to process other bank and cash payments and receipts

How to print management reports

Important Information:

This is a fast paced course, with classes twice a week. 

Sutton College uses Sage 50 software to teach this course and an individual software licence is included in the course cost. 

You will need a laptop with Microsoft Windows, that meets the minimum specification required for Sage 50 in order to practise at home:

Early enrolment is advised to ensure that you are able to access the software required from the beginning of the course.

This licence is valid for 180 days and you can continue to use it should you wish to progress to Level 2 following successful completion of this course. 

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This course is Level 1. To be able to enrol on the course you need to have passed Book-Keeping Level 1. Students should be able to use a computer keyboard with confidence and have access to a computer outside of College.

Yes

To be considered for a place on this course, you are required to attend a Course Approval session to ensure this course is suitable for you. You may be asked to complete a test/tests.
