Please note, if you completed your Computerised Accounts Level 1 before December 2017 using the old version of the SAGE software (version 19), you will need to attend a booster session to bring you up to date with the new SAGE software (version 24).

What are the overall aims of the course?

The aim of this course is to help students understand how to use a computerised accounting package (SAGE) to enter book keeping transactions of a business, complete computerised journals entries, process wages, produce an invoice and to complete bank reconciliation.

How to allocate Customer and Supplier Payments and Receipts
How to prepare, process and print a service invoice
How to process a bank account transfer
How to process returned/cancelled cheques
How to process journals including a Wages Journal
How to produce Aged debtor/creditor reports
How to produce Day book reports
How to prepare and produce Remittance advices and customer statements
How to prepare management reports

As this course leads to a qualification, you will be required to attend a course approval interview. This is to ensure the course is suitable for you. You may also be asked to complete a test/tests.

This is a fast paced course, with classes twice a week. If you have commitments outside of college which would make it challenging to study at this pace, please select one of our ‘Steady Pace’ courses which meet once a week.

What do I need to bring with me to class?

Pen, paper, folder and calculator.
