What is this course about?
Do you need a Level 2 English Functional Skills qualification for employment or higher education purposes?
This INTENSIVE course is aimed at those who want to gain their qualification quickly. This does mean investing more time studying per week than our other courses; you are required to attend twice a week but will be able to gain your qualification in less than 6 months. This course is 4 hours per week and requires a high level of commitment but may help you to reach your goals quickly.
This course aims to develop basic study skills as well as the reading, writing and speaking and listening skills needed to become more confident in English. It is aimed at those who have good Reading and Writing skills already but still have some issues with composition, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Our English Skills courses are aimed at those whose first language is English or those who have already gained an ESOL Level 1 Writing qualification. If you do not have either of these, we have a wide range of ESOL classes to cater for all needs.
Please refer back to the Sutton College English and Maths profile page if you are unsure if and English Skills course is right for you, or whether ESOL would be more appropriate. https://www.suttoncollege.ac.uk/courses/english-and-maths/
