Make Easter floral cup cakes
Design and make an Easter basket arrangement
Are there any entry requirements?
This is a basic introductory course to flower arranging and floristry and all are welcome, with no previous experience required.
Ability to understand verbal instructions and follow demonstrations is required.
Do I need to attend a course approval interview/assessment before I can join this course?
How will I be taught?
Classroom based (including practical work where applicable)
Practical class work, following initial tutor demonstration, explanation, instruction and discussion.
General class guidance is given by the tutor with some one-to-one guidance where appropriate.
This is a 1 day course.
Handouts and other materials are available from the tutor or online.
How will my progress be checked?
Informal assessment in class
Continuous informal assessment methods are used by the tutor to monitor students’ progress and involve observation, question and answer and discussion activities.
Students are also encouraged to keep a personal portfolio of floral designs made in class
Does the course have any features I should be aware of?
You are required to purchase your own flowers/foliage to make the floral items. Please see the list below.
Some containers and floral foam may be purchased in class at Wholesale price if required

To make the Easter Spring posy bouquet you will need to purchase the following flowers/foliage and sundries. Please see the list below.
1 bunch double Narcissus 1 bunch yellow tulips, 1 bunch lisianthus and 1 bunch yellow or white freesias
Half a metre yellow or cream tulle and satin ribbon to match
Easter basket flower arrangement
1 medium sized basket
Garden foliage and small amount of solidago (Golden rod)
1 bunch yellow roses, 1 bunch tulips, 1 bunch narcissus
Small amount of Sisal to make a nest, eggs and chicks to decorate
Easter cup cakes
Several small flowers and foliage to make the cup cake e.g. spray roses or spray chrysanthemums (container and foam can be purchased in class £1.50p)

What can I do after the course has finished?
Enrol on further flower arranging courses at Sutton College.
Consider enrolling on the Floristry Foundation course or on the Level 2 Certificate in Floristry course or consider work experience in a florist shop. Please discuss options with the tutor.
