What is this course about?

Are you on a Supporting Teaching and Learning course and would like to know more about how modern maths is taught in schools? This is the course for you and, once completed, you will receive a Sutton College certificate to support job applications.

This is an online course and is aimed at those who are confident with IT, have WIFI access and also have access to a suitable device for online learning, such as a PC, tablet or laptop.

We will be using Google Classrooms and Googlemeets for online lessons and you will be expected to attend for the whole duration of sessions. There will be no face-to-face learning.

What will we cover?

• Understand what topics are covered in Key Stages 1-4
• Give an overview of what is covered in maths each year at school
• Explain the CPA method of teaching
• Strategies to use to help pupils understand some key topics
• Links to popular resources and online learning for LSAs and Teachers

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This course is aimed at those on Level 1 courses or above with a good level of English.
