What is this course about?

Whether you are catching the bus, cooking the evening meal or balancing the household finances, good number skills come in useful in many everyday situations. By improving your ability to solve number and measurement problems, read and tell the time accurately and handle money confidently you increase your confidence in mathematics enabling everyday tasks to become a little easier.

What will we cover?

On this Edexcel course, through engaging mediums, games and activities you will learn how to:

Numbers and the number system – whole numbers

  • Read, write, order and compare numbers up to 20 
  • Use whole numbers to count up to 20 items, including zero 
  • Add numbers which total up to 20, and subtract numbers from numbers up to 20 
  • Recognise and interpret the symbols +, – and = 

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This is an Entry 1 course. You will complete a computer-based assessment during your course approval interview to see if this level is right for you.
