If you are someone who struggles with everyday Maths and lacks confidence with numbers, you are not alone. Sutton College is here to help you!
Sutton College are excited to be offering a range of free Maths courses in 2022-23 as part of the 'Multiply' initiative, to help adults who do not have a Maths qualification at Level 2/GCSE improve their numeracy skills and feel more confident about using Maths in their work and everyday life.
The Department for Education recently released figures which stated that 17 million adults in England (half of the working-age population) have everyday maths skills roughly at the level you would expect of a primary school child. The UK Government has committed that the first priority of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund should be used for 'Multiple' courses to help close that gap.
What will I learn on this course?
On this course, you will learn a range of numeracy skills related to Algebra, to help you feel more knowledgeable and confident about dealing with situations in your everyday life and in your work role where you have to use numbers.
The course will also support those who are working towards a GCSE Maths qualification and who need additional help with these skills.
What level is this course & what skills do I need?
The level of this course is working towards GCSE. You will need an Entry 3/Pre-GCSE understanding of English language to enrol on this Maths course.
Is a course approval interview/assessment required?
You may be asked to complete an initial assessment before you start the course, so your tutor can identify your strengths and areas for development.
