Introductory info

Discover the Honeywood Museum and its beautiful surroundings on this course with your child/ren. Create unique crafts to take home with you.

What are the overall aims of the course?
Spend time with your child learning and creating together.

Family Learning courses are designed to provide parents, grandparents, carers and

their children an opportunity to learn together

What will I learn on the course?
Using the natural environment for inspiration you will be making a hanging mobile, a puppet and a collage during the course.

Use strategies at home to improve your child/ren’s learning.

Be more active in support of your child/ren’s learning and development

 

Are there any entry requirements?

Priority will be given to adults who do not have a Maths AND/OR English GCSE A*-C Grades. 

Priority will be given to adults with children with disabilities and/or learning difficulties.

No more than two children per adult on courses where children attend.

How will I be taught?

Tutor instruction and demonstration
Non-classroom based

How will my progress be checked?                                     
Tutor observation

Does the course have any features I should be aware of?
We will be going out into the museum garden to forage for natural materials to use in our craft projects. Materials such as scissors and glue will require adult supervision

You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, health and safety information relating to you and your child.

What do I need to bring with me to class?
Wear old clothing or bring an apron.
