What is this course about?

Discover your own individual style of painting and drawing.

Learn from analysing the history, techniques and styles of great painters, taking tips and guidance from our expert tutor.

Whether you are a beginner taking your first creative steps into the artistic world or you have previous experience, this course will inspire you to further your skills and appreciation of art.

What will we cover?

The aim of the course is to be a guide to using different approaches to using oil and acrylic paint and drawing materials, so that you can find an individual way of painting and drawing.

Painters that will be studied will include contemporary (Peter Doig, Joan Eardley), modern (Van Gogh, Cezanne) and old master (Rembrandt, Valasquez) drawing and painting.

You will learn from following a structured course, demonstration, one to one tuition and class feedback.

Do I need any skills for this course?

This course is suitable for all abilities including beginners and experienced.

Additional information

You will need to provide your own materials. A list of materials will be provided at the start of the course by your tutor.

What can I do after I have finished this course?

Many students remain on the course as each year the course is different and is structured so that all continue to keep on improving whatever abilities and experience.

The course can be used to develop a personal folder for those who wish to apply to a foundation course or to do a degree.
