What are the overall aims of the course?
To learn how to make pottery using appropriate construction methods for various forms, learn techniques of decoration, and learn how to work safely in a pottery workshop.
What will I learn on the course?
The course is designed to cover a range of skills and methods including clay preparation, coiling, slab building, throwing, glazing, press moulding, slip decoration, and Health & Safety issues.
Are there any entry requirements?
None, other than the ability to understand verbal instructions.

Classroom based (including practical work where applicable)

Informal assessment in class
Does the course have any features I should be aware of?
It's a hands-on practical class and sometimes messy
What do I need to bring with me to class?
An apron or an old shirt. A sketchbook is useful but not essential. Tools are provided but some students prefer to use their own.
