Make clay objects in different ways: coiling, slab-building, pinching, moulding and throwing, and to handle and use pottery tools, as well as decorate pots using a variety of techniques. You will develop an understanding of the process of pottery and an awareness of health and safety in the pottery workshop.
Purpose of Course
The course is designed to cover a range of skills and methods including clay preparation, coiling, slab building, throwing, glazing, press moulding, slip decoration, and Health & Safety issues. It's a hands-on practical class and sometimes messy.

Is a course approval interview/assessment required?
Please bring an apron or an old shirt. A sketchbook is useful but not essential. Tools are provided but some students prefer to use their own.
