This course is designed to promote mental wellbeing and social inclusion and aims to encourage those at risk of feeling isolated within their community to engage in learning with others.
Singing is an amazing way to raise the spirits and group singing can work wonders towards increasing wellbeing, building confidence and improving memory function. Our Singing for Wellbeing course aims to introduce beginners to the joys of singing in a group and further develop the skills of those who have some experience. Come along, participate in making music and new friends in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Purpose of Course
You will learn to develop your enjoyment of singing through a range of musical styles and there will be some focus on gentle movement, breathing and learning short vocal exercises to increase memory capacity and confidence.

What level is this course & what skills do I need?
This is an all abilities class for adults who wish to improve personal mental wellbeing through singing. Beginners with no prior musical experience are welcome as are learners with experience.
Is a course approval interview/assessment required?
All materials are provided.
What are the progression opportunities at the end of this course?
You may progress to other music and performance arts courses or other mainstream courses in a wide range of subjects as appropriate, at Sutton College.
