Springboard – preparing for life and work (Learners with learning disabilities)


Springboard offers an extensive range of courses for adults with learning disabilities.

  1. Independent living and community participation
    – including; social skills, staying safe, horticulture,
    food and drink preparation, event planning and home care skills.
  2. Step up – Employability and or higher level learning – including; reading and writing,
    number skills, ICT, volunteering, reception & window display, study skills, horticulture, cookery and business skills.
  3. Enrichment – including; music, art, pottery, exercise, choir, putting on a production, singing, cookery, Mental Wellbeing managing stress, basic therapies for Wellbeing
    and yoga.

We also provide courses in dance, drama and advocacy. Students can choose courses from 1, 2 or all 3 pathways. Each student will be asked to complete an initial assessment before choosing their courses to ensure that the courses suit their individual needs.

For those students wishing to work towards higher level courses, we also have a new range of courses entitled Springboard: Step up which endeavour to prepare students for higher level learning or employment.
