Volunteer Roles at Sutton College

Thank you for your interest in a voluntary opportunity with the College.  Volunteers play a valuable role in the life of Sutton College and without them we would be unable to offer the high level of service to learners that we currently do.

Job title: Volunteer – Community Learning – First Steps & Next Steps IT Skills
Basis: Sutton Centre – Mondays
Details: Do you have some spare time to support our basic IT classes here at Sutton? We run the following two 5-week courses throughout the year on a Monday afternoon and we need help to support learners who have no or very low IT skills. First Steps Computers and the Internet Next Steps Computers and the Internet.

Confidence in using IT: Microsoft Office and the internet is essential as well as excellent communication skills.

Job title: Volunteer – Supported Learning.
Basis: Employability Pathway- Photography – Beginners
Details: Our Supported Learning Department run a wide variety of courses at Sutton. These courses are specifically for our adult learners with special educational needs and disabilities. We would welcome volunteers to support our learners in a variety of ways and we currently need a volunteer for our Photography Course – Beginners. This would be a great opportunity to work with the Supported Learning Team supporting our learners. If you are able to spare a minimum of 2 hours a week and have a keen interest in helping learners to achieve their goals. Demonstrate patience, empathy, understanding, and friendly disposition and want to join our Supported Learning Team, we would welcome your application. We also welcome volunteers to apply to support our learners in our other wide variety of courses, whether it be supporting learners with Arts and Crafts, Writing, Reading, Dance, Exercise, Science, Work Skills…. and much more.

Experience of working with SEND preferable.
