As part of the 2015 Festival of Learning, Sutton College is inviting local residents to try their hand at a range of new skills by taking part in a free taster session.

The Festival of Learning, led by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), invites organisations and communities to take part in adult learning activities to showcase the wide range of opportunities and resources available to adults hoping to continue or resume their education.

The Festival culminates in Adult Learners’ Week 2015, celebrated from 15-20 June at the College, and recognises the inspiring achievements of adult learners nationwide with a prestigious awards ceremony in London.

Throughout Adult Learner’s Week visitors to Sutton College will have the opportunity to try a short taster course for free, including Art & Design tasters in Watercolour, Charcoal and Acrylics as well as Ceramics, Jewellery and First Aid. It is also an opportunity to find out more about Child Development courses and if you are over 60 there is a free beginners ipad course too. Throughout the week there are various Exercise courses that are being run on a free, drop in basis to try including Zumba ®, Exercise to Aid Recovery and Konga Burn, so there truly is something for everyone.  For full listings of all our free tasters see below.

Further to these exciting opportunities to try something for free, Sutton College will be holding their Open Event on Saturday 20th June from 12pm-3pm at the main centre, next to Sutton library. Visitors will have the opportunity to join in workshops, watch demos and displays, look around the specialist facilities and meet the teams and find out more about the courses on offer from September. Kids can take part in the free arts and crafts, games and more too!
