Cakes, Coffee & the Coronation!π
Over a hundred attendees raised over Β£200 for MIND, the Mental Health Charity yesterday celebrating the King’s upcoming coronation with coffee and cakes.
Staff and students donated cakes for the coffee morning that were then ‘sold’ for donations to the vital mental health support charity, MIND. There were homemade cupcakes, baklava, delicious cheesecake, pineapple and lemon and coconut cakes, a beautiful Union Jack vanilla sponge made one of our talented staff members and lots more. Visitors helped themselves to tea and coffee and sat and chatted with the backdrop of videos on the history of the Coronation and the Monarch.
Several English Language ESOL classes baked treats to share and used the time to practice their language skills with one class bringing their topic of Food & Culture to life.
It was a great atmosphere, a fantastic way to celebrate the upcoming Coronation and also support MIND in the run up to Mental Health Awareness week.
Mental Health Awareness week runs from Monday 15th May and information from the Mental Health Foundation can be found HERE
