Creating Hope Through Action – Suicide Prevention Day – Free Virtual Event
Every year, on the 10th of September, organisations around the world get together to raise awareness about suicide prevention.
In the London Borough of Sutton, the Sutton Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) and Public Health are hosting a series of presentations to mark Suicide Prevention Day. This year’s theme is ‘Creating Hope Through Action’. In keeping along that line, the aim of the session is to inspire confidence and hope in all of us that our actions, no matter how big or small, can provide hope to those who are struggling.
All students and residents of Sutton are invited to a free virtual event taking place on Monday 12th September 2022 from 9.30am – 12.30pm
The session will include presentations on the below subjects:
- Update on Sutton Men in Sheds – Razia Sattar, Community Action Sutton
- Crisis Cafe – Lisa Lancefield, Sutton Mental Health Foundation
- Suicide and Debt – Steve Triner, Citizens Advice Sutton
- Removing the Stigma around Mental Health- Leo Packard-Bell, Sutton Uplift
It is free to register via: https://suttontraining.event-booking.org/event-detail/%3DQjM5cTM/World-Suicide
The programme will be opened by Deborah Cohen, the SSAB independent chair and will be closed by Imran Choudhury, Director of Public Health.
