End of Year Art & Craft Exhibition
Learners from the Art & Craft department have once again painted, sculpted, drawn, sewn and crafted beautiful items for display in the annual exhibition.
The 2024 Art Exhibition is on now until Friday 21st June in the Europa Gallery at Sutton Library. Set up as an opportunity to showcase the hard work and achievements of learners, displays can be seen from the pottery and ceramics department, various art classes, beautiful jewellery and calligraphy too. Our SEND learners have also created fantastic work including venetian masks and art work.
Visitors cannot miss the wonderful display pieces that the 2024 Floristry department have created once again too, bringing the gallery to life with their colour and creativity.
The exhibition opened with a preview evening attended by the Deputy Mayor of Sutton Councillor Louise Phelan, Councillors, tutors and learners, many of whom spent time admiring the works and planning their next steps into the creative world of the art & craft department. All were impressed with the calibre of work on display.
Various pieces of learner work are available to purchase and these are indicated in the displays.
Running at the same time as the main College Art & Craft Exhibition is an exhibition on ex-tutor Dennis Huntley’s work, led by the Friends of St Nicholas Churchyard. This will take place in St Nicholas Church and feature the award winning statue of Anne Boleyn that Dennis designed. Please see https://www.facebook.com/share/MfqeMQU3UWGZKKCW/
