Sutton College – Engaging Employers
Sutton College was delighted to welcome representatives from businesses across the Borough to its ‘Engaging Employers 2015’ event, which took place at the College on Thursday 18th June, 10am-12pm.
‘Engaging Employers 2015’ focussed on the importance of developing the skills of employees to help realise the full potential of your business. Guest speakers included the Leader of Sutton Council, Ruth Dombey, who outlined why it is such a great time to be living and working in the Borough and the advantages this brings for businesses that operate here. Also speaking at the free event was local businessman Fintan O’Toole who is the head of his own successful HR company called the ‘HR Dept’. In an interactive presentation, Fintan analysed what Sutton’s business community needs to do in order to retain and develop its staff.
Sutton College is firmly establishing itself as an outstanding provider of business training in and around the Borough, following contracts with the NHS, G4S and Warrenders. The College offers bespoke packages devised for their clients in areas such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Accountancy, Book-Keeping, Computerised Accounts, Apple Mac, Leadership, Time Management and Team Building.
It is also an approved centre to deliver Chartered Management Institute (CMI) qualifications, the only Awarding Body able to award Chartered Manager status.
One of the Assistant Principals at Sutton College, Scott Sherriff, said “We were extremely pleased with the feedback we received from attendees at our ‘Engaging Employers 2015’ and the opportunity it gave us to open up a dialogue with the local business community relating to its training needs. The event enabled those who run a business in the Borough to come and see the fantastic facilities and trainers Sutton College has to offer and also consider the type of bespoke training packages that would develop the skills of their staff.”
