High praise from Ofsted as SCOLA, Sutton College is graded GOOD
SCOLA, Sutton College is proud to have received a ‘GOOD’ grading in all areas from their Ofsted inspection in June 2014.
The Ofsted report highlighted the excellent work the local College does for the Borough, praising the ‘skilful tutors that enthuse and motivate learners, making good use of learning technology within the classroom to enhance learning.‘
Colin Stewart, LBS Executive Head Education & Early Intervention, stated:
‘On reading through the report in detail I’m struck by just how complimentary the inspectors were about so many aspects of the College’s provision. It is to the credit of the staff and Governing Body that there are so many strengths and that they range across all aspects of your work from student outcomes, the quality of teaching to support for learners’
Ofsted also recognised that ‘The service attracts learners from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, reflecting the diverse cultural and ethnic mix of the local communities’ and that ‘many learners’ achievements have been recognised by regional and national awards ‘.
Principal Jenny Sims said ‘I am very pleased with the recognition of significant achievements identified by the Ofsted team and know that my team are motivated and encouraged to develop even further the College’s strengths and continue to serve the needs of the local community’
