Inspiring Arts & Crafts Exhibition by Sutton College

25 June 2015

mainSutton College is holding its annual End of Year Show of student work from the Creative Arts & Crafts department in the Europa Gallery at Sutton Library.

The exhibition showcases work from all abilities from complete beginners through to advanced, experienced practitioners and the work on display has primarily been chosen by the students themselves.

Drawing, painting and inspiring photography work from talented Sutton College students is on display as well as digital media, printmaking and calligraphy from the Art 2D area.

Visitors can study the intricate jewellery, professional pottery, stained glass, sewing and handcrafted lace making projects from the Craft 3D area and there is also a wonderful display of work from College learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Head of Art at Sutton College, Angela Williams said ‘This exhibition is a fantastic way to showcase the wonderful pieces created by our students. Some students do courses with us for pleasure whilst others we have helped gain places at prestigious Colleges and Universities. Some of the work has taken months to create and every single item on show is a great example of our students’ talent and dedication’

Sutton College runs courses in art mediums of various types and has specialist jewellery and ceramics studios at the main Sutton centre.

Full listings of all Arts and Craft courses can be found online at www.suttoncollege.ac.uk

The exhibition will run in the Europa Gallery, Sutton Library, St Nicholas Way, SM1 1EA from June 23rd to 1pm on July 2nd 2015.
