International Women’s Day

28 February 2020

Sutton College is proud to be involved in a couple of local events to celebrate the upcoming International Women’s Day this March.

On March 12th , NatWest are hosting an event at the College where Sutton Women Mean Business’ Business Woman of the Year 2019 Caroline Odogwu of sheisyouuk  will be sharing her inspiring story.

Organisers state that ‘Caroline Odogwu is committed to working with young people, inspiring them to reach their full potential. And after working five years at youth entrepreneurial charity, Business Launchpad, alongside running her own award-winning social enterprise – she has an inspiring story of her own which she would like to share with all of us.’

More information on this event can be found at http://ow.ly/UzYJ50yu8hX

In 2019 Sutton College worked in partnership with Sutton Women’s Centre to provide art classes for women who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual abuse.

Learners explored and enjoyed the process of art to help recognise and connect to their emotions and to help relieve stress and unload anxiety through art techniques.

Sutton college students work will feature as part of an exhibition running at the Cryer Arts centre in Carshalton from Friday 6th March – Sunday 8th March.
