Learning in Lockdown – Feedback From Our Students

Covid restrictions have meant changes to the way we teach the majority of our courses and the way in which most of our students learn. Going from classroom sessions to online learning, with potential issues with connections, homeschooling and life in general could have proved very difficult for some but staff and students have coped extremely well and feedback from some of our students can be seen below.

“Really enjoyed the course. The tutor was fantastic and we had so much fun. It was great to do something “”normal”” again and we will be back for more! Thank you so much.”
“Great fun although has been difficult due to Covid restrictions but the tutor has gone out of her way to try and make it enjoyable and inclusive when i had to join from home.”
“ I love this course. It’s the highlight of my week. Thank you”

Sutton College recognises the importance of being part of a class, on site or online, for people’s social interaction and wellbeing and it is great to hear the positive effects from students:

“Lots of participation and conversation and inclusion when many of us feel alone and isolated due to various Coronavirus restrictions – as well as keeping our brains ticking over with great topics.”
“I got a lot out of this course and it’s helped me to have something to come along to each week. It has felt really supportive and safe which has helped my mental health a lot.”
“I had a really bad day yesterday and did some art and it really helped change my feelings about the day. It’s been a lifeline for me recently.”
“Appreciated having the time and challenge of the class to concentrate on which helped me cope with lockdown.”

New courses for the Summer term at Sutton College will be available on the website at the beginning of February at www.suttoncollege.ac.uk
