Rhianna Lynch – a Grade A student!

23 September 2022

Rhianna Lynch completed her English and Maths GCSEs at Sutton College this summer.

She achieved a 9 in her English 9-1 GCSE in August and is now studying Animal Care & Management at Plumpton College in Sussex.

Rhianna decided to take her course as she hadn’t achieved the grades she wanted in secondary school and wanted to progress onto further education.

Rhianna said: ‘My English teacher was fantastic. I didn’t feel judged for asking questions, and I felt as if I could talk confidently in class. Anything I didn’t understand was clarified for me, and I enjoyed my time studying here. I am incredibly grateful for being here. The teachers are wonderful and the college and my classmates and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them’

When asked about Sutton College, Rhianna stated that: ‘Sutton college is inclusive so people of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed here. I appreciated being able to continue learning as an adult, and from the convenience of my own home. You’re never too old to go back to college! People goes through life at different paces, and you have as much a right to learn as anyone else.’

We wish Rhianna and all our other GCSE students all the best as they progress on to their next steps.

Sutton College achieved above the national average in 2022 for both GCSE English Language and Maths GCSE in respect of achievement at Grade 4 and above.
