Students selected for 150yrs Celebration

Students from SCOLA’s Art Department are having their work displayed in Sutton’s Church of St Nicholas to help celebrate the building’s 150 year anniversary.

The Church approached SCOLA last year to ask students to produce artworks of Stained Glass windows inspired by the building.  The theme was ‘Looking Out’ & was free to interpretation.

An exhibition of the finished paintings was held in the Starkey Gallery at SCOLA & now the church have chosen three original paintings for their own exhibition. The selected student artists were Lesley Happe, Karen Bull & John Palmer.

The Church will show a photo collage of all the paintings produced as part of this exhibition on Saturday 20 -Sunday 21 September to be held within the church itself.
Entrance is free and also features photographs and displays.
