I am proud to work with SCOLA Sutton College, the Borough’s premier provider of adult education for over 40 years, who continue to offer high quality teaching and a huge range of courses to the local community.’
Tom, looking forward to the class in June, said ‘Having been an adult learner in the past, I know how much fun and satisfaction you can get from adult classes and intend proving that case by giving a French lesson. Vive La France.’
Former SCOLA student Mary Lawson, author of international bestsellers- Crow Lake and The Other Side of the Bridge will also be visiting the College. Mary will be talking about her third, new novel Road Ends in a session on Tuesday 17th June at SCOLA.
Mary studied at SCOLA for over 20 years and said ‘If I hadn’t had the support and encouragement of the tutor and the other members of the creative writing course I attended, I suspect I would have given up. I would never have had the pleasure and satisfaction of getting a book published.’ She added that ‘It wasn’t just the excellence of the teaching that kept me going, it was also the encouragement and support. The education we got in those classes was the very best kind because it was both inspirational and fun.’
