Free Qualifications

Do You Earn less than £28,860? Study for FREE!

The Government is providing funding for those earning below the national living wage. If you earn less than £28,860 per annum (full or part-time) and live within the Greater London Authority (GLA), then you may be able to study an accredited course up to and including Level 2 for FREE.

Are you Unemployed? Study for FREE!

Courses may be free if you are unemployed and looking for work and living within the GLA. You will need to provide evidence when you enrol (dated within the last three months). Evidence can be: Job Seekers Allowance; Income Support; Employment Support Allowance; Universal Credits; Housing Benefit; Council Tax Reduction.

The GLA defines learners as unemployed if one or more of the following apply, they:
-receive Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), incl those receiving National Insurance credits only
-receive Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
-receive Universal Credit (UC), and their take-home pay as recorded on their UC statement (disregarding UC payments and other benefits) is less than £952 a month (sole claim) or £1534 a month (joint claim)
-are released on temporary licence and not funded by the Ministry of Justice.

Learners who also receive other state benefits (not included above) and their take-home pay (disregarding UC payments and other benefits) is less than £952 a month (sole claim) or £1,534 a month (joint claim) may be funded OR
If a learner is out of work and not in receipt of benefits and the learner wants to be employed, and the learning is directly relevant to their employment prospects and the local labour market needs OR the learner is seeking exceptional support with social integration (including those learners with no recourse to public funds) this may also be considered.
