Photography Level 2 Certificate (NCFE)

This course is designed for students who wish to develop their skills in taking/making photographic images, giving emphasis in the principles of photo image capture who either want to progress as a hobbyist or as a career change.

You will also learn about various methods of image presentation.

The course is also appropriate for students who wish to progress on to further study and training within the Photography industry.

You will learn to develop a good understanding of your DSLR camera including the use of semi auto and manual modes, Shutter speeds, ISO, Aperture and how to combine them for a good exposure.

Various techniques including long exposures, creative portraiture and product photography amongst other portfolio tasks Classes will consist of both theory and practical tasks including setting up and planning for images. Portfolio work is to be undertaken both in the classroom and in your own time with homework required weekly.

This course also includes the additional qualification - Ascentis Level 1 Certificate in Employability (Learning Aim: 60085010). This will give you useful skills for the workplace and be a great addition to your CV.

This course also covers an introduction to British Values (learning aim 60333984)

This is a Level 2 Certificate (NCFE) in Photography.

Level 1 or equivalent in photography is desirable, DSLR/Mirrorless/Bridge camera, good literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills.

Additional information

Location work will be required which generally include a gallery visit and photoshoots TBD (all information will be given in advance).

For your first lesson please bring the following:

* Camera and lens,

* Charged battery,

* New memory card,

* New USB memory stick,

* Notepad & pen,

This course will be at Sutton College, however, before the start of the course you will be invited to join a Google Classroom, which is the tool that will be used to share information with you about the course, update you with important information etc. Any course enrichment opportunities associated with this class will be listed in your Google classroom.

• Bring copies of previous exam certificates
