This course is a great introduction for anyone who is interested in a career in childcare or for new parents. This qualification develops a basic knowledge of childcare. It covers working with children up to the age of 5 years old, focusing on their growth, learning and development. Taught by industry professionals, this is a great stepping-stone into the rewarding work of childcare.
This course is suitable for anyone who is thinking of working in a nursery, school nursery or a pre-school setting. It is suitable for parents and volunteers who would like to play a part in early year’s childcare in preschools or nurseries., The units that will be studied are:,

* Growth and Development of Young Children,

* Respecting and Valuing Children,

* Sharing Learning Experiences With Children,

* Healthy Eating, Your tutor will give you more information about the course at your first session., As this is a government-funded course, there is a requirement for some elements of English and maths to be included in the course., There may be some paired and group work involved in the course.,

This course also covers an introduction to British Values (learning aim 60333984)
This course is a Level 1.

You will need to have appropriate levels of English skills in order to produce assignments necessary for this course. You must have achieved an English Entry 3 Level qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.
