Details: Sutton College is urgently seeking a dynamic and experienced Counselling Tutor who can teach L3 Counselling studies (BACP) for a current cohort. We are very interested in tutors who are able to support students to:

Take the initial steps in professional counsellor training to specialise whether in the voluntary, statutory or private sectors

Learn how essential theoretical concepts are proving to be in their own client work

Prepare for work as a professional counsellor in an agency setting

You should have a passion for teaching, good subject knowledge, and a desire to develop pre-practitioner training for future counselling professionals. Professional counselling experience is preferred, and a minimum level 3 teaching qualification is essential (or the willingness to work towards one). Qualified at Level 4 or above in CPCAB Therapeutic Counselling or its equivalent

Teaching: Early Years and Teaching Assistant & Apprenticeship

Basis: Location: Sutton – Various days and times – Start ASAP
Salary: Funded Courses – Sessional Workers & Permanent Tutors – Including professional responsibilities of planning, teaching and assessment. Depending on qualifications and experience. Grade 7 SP 23 – £27.66 – SP 33 £33.96.
Details: We are looking for an experienced tutor to deliver the following courses:

  • Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Diploma (NCFE CACHE) and Apprenticeship Standard
  • Early Years Educator L3 Diploma and Apprenticeship Standard
  • Teaching Assistant L3 Apprenticeship Standard

Start date asap. Delivery will involve in-class and, in the case of apprenticeships, you will be visiting the apprentices in their workplace, for tuition, observations and progress reviews. Experience of both classroom teaching and the delivering of apprenticeships in the workplace, plus vocational experience in Early Years and the Teaching Assistant field is essential. A Level 3 teaching qualification is required or to be completed within 6 months of your start date.

Essential: L3 Qualification or above in Early Years / Supporting Teaching & Learning (TA), as well as post training / industry experience.

Desirable: Level 3 teaching qualification is required or to be completed within 6 months of your start date.

Site Supervisor

Basis: Location: Sutton – Part time 26 hours per week / 52 weeks per year
(Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs – 7am -12pm and Saturday 7.30am -1.30pm)
Some cover work for the late shift (2pm-10pm) may be required as well as coverage for annual leave and other types of absences.
Salary: People Plan Grade 3 SCP 5, F.T.E £28,521 – pro rata £20,598.50
Site Supervisor – All aspects of Site Management

Sutton College is looking for a Site Supervisor who can contribute to the smooth running of our college site. As Site Supervisor, you will be part of the College facilities team and be responsible for providing general caretaking, security and maintenance support.

A key part of your role as Site supervisor is ensuring works are carried out to the desired specification and standard. You will generally act as the focal point for all day-to-day building maintenance needs.

You will be required to support with room set ups, setting up for internal and external events, general maintenance including painting and decorating, fire alarm testing, toilet checking.

The role of a Site Supervisor supports the college with ensuring the premises and contents are secured, that the building is safe for all staff, students & visitors, all customers’ needs are met to a satisfactory standard and that maintenance is conducted with the highest degree of attention to detail.

The position will require shift work, including evenings and weekends, as well as coverage for annual leave and other types of absences. The details of the hours will be confirmed on appointment.

Please note this could change to support the business needs of the college and at times could be extended.

Previous caretaking experience is desirable.

Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to obtain in the first 6 months of employment.

PAT testing C&G certification or willingness to obtain within the first six months of employment.

First Aid at work certification or willingness to obtain in the first six months of employment.
