This one-off classroom session offers learners a rich introduction to London’s vibrant art scene, setting the stage for a series of upcoming off-site visits to major museums and hidden gems in London’s art and cultural landscape.
Through an engaging presentation, group discussion, and a fun quiz session, learners will explore the historical and cultural meaning of institutions such as The Courtauld Gallery and Somerset House, Dulwich Picture Gallery, and the William Morris House.
Learners will gain insight into how these spaces reflect different facets of British art history—from the intimate charm of Dulwich’s early public gallery to the radical design legacy of William Morris, and the academic excellence of The Courtauld. The session will also preview the upcoming museum visits, providing context and thematic connections to enhance the learning experience.
