Now that the words are flowing, it is time to experiment with shape and structure. This term offers exciting opportunities to try different modes of writing, allowing you to stretch your creative muscles and discover where your strengths lie.
We will demystify different genres, giving you the freedom to play with new styles without pressure. In keeping with our collaborative approach, the specific themes of this term will develop and adapt in response to students’ evolving interests.

Learning the mechanics of plot, character development, and world-building to create captivating short stories or novel chapters.
Playing with rhythm, line breaks, metaphors, and constraint to express complex emotions in concise forms.
Exploring the art of truth-telling, personal essays, and transforming real-life memories into compelling narratives.
Writing for the stage or screen, focusing on how to write realistic dialogue and build tension between characters.
