This course will develop your digital skills for life and introduce you to digital skills for work.
On this course, you will cover:
Using devices and handling information
* Keep operating systems and applications up to date.
* Use appropriate techniques to carry out and refine searches.
* Organise and store information using files, folders, hierarchy and tagging.
* Identify and apply solutions to common technical problems, using online tutorials, FAQs and help facilities.
* Identify and use appropriate online learning resources to maintain and improve digital skills.
* Use applications to enter, edit, format, layout information (including text, tables, graphics and charts)
Creating and Editing
* Edit and enhance an image.
* Enter, edit, sort, process, format, and chart numeric data.
Communicating
* Identify and use appropriate modes of online communication
* Take steps to manage online identity
Transacting (Buying things online)
* Interact with online transactional services and manage account settings
* Compare online buying options for an item/service and identify the best option.
Being safe and responsible online
* Protect personal information and privacy
* Protect devices and data from online risks and threats.
* Configure and use multifactor authentication to access and use online services.
* Backup data locally and using a cloud provider.
* Use appropriate language and behaviour online.
* Apply simple methods to avoid physical and psychological health risks while using devices.
Learning Aim: Z0011145 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor.

However, to access the course you should be able to do the following:

* Know how to use the mouse, keyboard or a touchscreen
* Able to open an application e.g. Google from the home screen
