If you enjoy growing things and would like to build your skills and knowledge of horticulture,

This course will take you on a journey of discovery. Harvest your own seeds, understand different soil types, how to plant, when to plant and then grow your own flowers and food.

This course is about building skills and confidence whilst increasing knowledge of different sowing and growing techniques, understanding the nature of plant material organic and inorganic and much more. The course will run for 3 days each week; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are times when the group will work outdoors around the borough and at our designated site.

Join this course and gain different life skills that will support you in doing everyday tasks as well as hobbies. Learners with a EHCP are welcome to join this course. Needs identified within the plan will be reviewed and your learning tailored to address them.
Seed harvesting, Soil preparation, Sowing, Plant and soil care, Harvesting, Healthy eating, Related Maths, Related English, Related ICT , Communication skills.
You will need to be able to plant and harvest. Our horticulture site is wheelchair accessible.,

You will need to have the desire to be a part of a team and be prepared to work hard within your skillset with tutors and peers.

This Pathway is Entry Level 3 and within the course you will work toward achieving the Entry Level 3 Award in Exploring Occupational Studies for the Workplace which is an NCFE qualification.,
