Jewellery Making & Silverwork – Progressors / Advanced

Beginners will learn basic jewellery making and silversmith techniques through a series of practical projects, including soldering, filing, forming, finishing and polishing.
These projects involve the design and making of finished items of jewellery from day one. Intermediate and advanced learners will have the opportunity to explore more advanced techniques and have the option to follow set projects or to work on their own designs.
This course will cover many topics including stone setting, etching, press forming, roller printing, forging, anticlastic raising and design.
This course involves the use of hand and mechanical equipment. You will be instructed how to use each piece of equipment safely by your tutor.

Suitable for beginners and intermediate jewellers and other craft makers with competent making skills.

Additional information:
Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil, and an apron (optional). Wear adequate footwear, please do not wear open toed shoes or sandals.

Copper will be supplied for your first projects, but then you will need to buy your own precious metals such as silver and semi-precious stones etc. Your tutor will instruct you how to do this.
