Our Level 2 Photography course is designed for those who have mastered the basics and are eager to refine their technique, expand their creative possibilities, and explore advanced topics in photography.
It will appeal to those who wish to progress into further study and training within the photography industry to become a professional photographer or simply a highly skilled hobbyist.
You will create a portfolio of images to be proud of and gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst learning various presentation methods.
You will be supported each step of the way by an experienced tutor who is an industry professional with many years’ teaching experience, ready, willing and able to share their first class knowledge with you.

Our Level 2 Photography course is designed for those who have mastered the basics and are eager to refine their technique, expand their creative possibilities, and explore advanced topics in photography.
It will appeal to those who wish to progress into further study and training within the photography industry to become a professional photographer or simply a highly skilled hobbyist.
You will create a portfolio of images to be proud of and gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst learning various presentation methods.
You will be supported each step of the way by an experienced tutor who is an industry professional with many years’ teaching experience, ready, willing and able to share their first class knowledge with you.
This course is designed for individuals who wish to develop their skills in taking and making photographic images, with an emphasis on the principles of photo image capture. You will also learn about various methods of image presentation.
You will develop a good understanding of your DSLR camera including the use of semi auto and manual modes, shutter speeds, ISO, aperture and how to combine them for a good exposure.
Various techniques will be learnt and practised including long exposures, creative portraiture and product photography amongst other portfolio tasks.
Classes will consist of both theory and practical tasks including setting up and planning for images.
Portfolio work is to be undertaken both in the classroom and in your own time with homework required weekly.
Your tutor will give you more information about the course at your first session.
Learning Aim: Z0011145 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor.

If you do not achieve Level 2 in your English Skills Builder Assessment you must have a UK English Level 1 qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.
Good literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills are a requirement for this course.
This course is a qualification therefore you must attend all sessions and complete all assessment tasks to the required standard including a portfolio demonstrating what you have learned.
Additional information:
For your first lesson please bring the following:
* DSLR/Mirrorless/Bridge camera and lens
* Charged battery
* New memory card
* New USB memory stick
* Notepad and pen
Additional information:
Location work will be required which typically consists of a gallery visit and photoshoots TBD (all information will be given in advance).
Ensure you are wearing comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear for a practical course.
