Try something new or develop your existing skills in our bespoke ceramics studio.
Our friendly and experienced tutor will support and teach you a range of techniques to help you learn,develop and hone your skills in the ancient craft of pottery.
Our friendly and experienced tutor will support and teach you a range of techniques to help you learn,develop and hone your skills in the ancient craft of pottery.
Learners will develop an understanding and experience of core specialist techniques to create individual finished ceramic items.
You will have the opportunity to create clay works using hand-building techniques (pinching, coiling and slab-building) and throwing ceramic pots on the wheel.
Group (optional) and individual projects will be completed.

This is a progressors/advanced course, with some learners already having a basic to advanced knowledge of ceramics, being appropriate for learners who have already attended a beginners course.
Additional information:
Please bring a plastic apron, notebook and pen.
Your tutor will inform you of tools that could be purchased to aid learning during the first session and throughout the course as needed.
Clay used will be charged at £3.50 per kilo before firing.
Charges will be in multiples of 500gm therefore there will be a minimum charge of 500gm (£1.75).
The college does not fire clay purchased outside of the college; therefore, you should not bring in your own clay.
We make every attempt to purchase clay at the lowest prices for the best quality however we have no control over these costs and prices will be subject to market changes.
