You’ll learn how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development and much more., This is a live online course.
You will need:
- A good internet connection.The classes work best with Chrome.
- A computer with a microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook), or a tablet/iPad/smartphone/iPhone if you don't have a computer.
- Earphones/headphones/speakers.

This course is suitable for anyone who is thinking of working in a school setting including: young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language.
It is aimed at those who are volunteering or who would like to work in a school.
The mandatory units are:
Understand schools as organisations
Understand how to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well
Understand how to communicate with children, young people and adults.
This qualification is gained by regular attendance to all timetabled sessions, producing a portfolio which contains completed assignments with ongoing feedback provided by the tutor.
Your portfolio is then reviewed by an external moderator to verify the qualification.
The college platform for most teaching and learning will take place using Google Classrooms.
This course also covers an introduction to British Values (learning aim Z0060119)
