Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Workforce – Early Years Educator Level 3 Diploma (NCFE CACHE)

You will need to have a paid work placement in a childcare setting and are already or are looking to progress to managing small teams.
Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.
You will be able to work in a Nursery, a Pre-School or a School Nursery or Reception class.
The course has 23 mandatory units.
These have been structured around 3 themes:
Theme 1: Health and well-being
Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
This course also covers an introduction to British Values (learning aim 60333984)
1: You will need to have completed the Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Diploma or the Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools Level 2 Certificate
2: You will need to have appropriate levels of English skills in order to produce assignments necessary for this course. You must have achieved an English GCSE at Grade 4 - 9 / C - A* or you must have achieved a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification.
You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.
You must also be competent in the use of ICT in order to complete unit assignments and access course information provided online.
The course is quite demanding. You must be prepared to study and research at home in order to progress and be able to develop your knowledge and your professionalism.
3: Learners will need to be working in a paid placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills and it is required for the achievement of this qualification.
A minimum of 350 placement hours is required throughout the course, or around 8 hours per week.
We recommend that placements should be undertaken in at least 2 different settings to cover the following age ranges:
Age Range Hours
0–1 year 11 months - 25 hours
2–2 years 11 months - 133 hours
3–5 years - 192 hours
Learners who work within a setting which provides care and education for children across these three age ranges, and are able to gain the necessary hours of experience, need not seek placement outside of their setting.
You will need a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check for your work-placement.
If your placement is unable to fund this you may have to pay for it.
A placement in a childcare setting is required to enrol on this course.
Please note that we are unable to approve you for this course without having received proof of a placement in a childcare setting.
Accepted forms of proof of a placement are a letter or email from your childcare setting confirming your placement.
PLEASE NOTE: Concessions rates may be available to those aged 19+ who do not already hold a full Level 3 qualification or have a full Level 3 qualification but are unemployed or are employed but earn below the national living wage.
If you fall outside these criteria, you can either pay the full fee or apply for an advanced learner loan.
A 10% discount will be applied to the Standard fee for those students who take out an Advanced Learner Loan.
Additional information: Please bring a pen, paper and a ring binder folder to your class.

This course also includes the additional qualification - Ascentis Level 1 Certificate in Employability (Learning Aim: 60085010).

* Bring accepted ID in the form of either a UK passport or printout of your e-visa showing residency status
* Bring proof of benefit dated within the last 3 months or most recent payslip /tax return if claiming the concessionary fee
* Ensure you meet all previous educational requirements to attend this course
* Bring copies of previous exam certificates
