Whether you're looking for a relaxing hobby or aiming to create beautiful works of art, watercolour painting is a rewarding and enjoyable skill to learn.
On this course you will be introduced to a range of basic watercolour techniques and have the opportunity to explore and experiment with watercolour techniques and materials, including mixed media.
This class welcomes beginners taking their first creative steps into the artistic world and those who have previous experience.

This course will help you experiment with watercolour, develop a good knowledge of basic watercolour techniques, drawing practice, colour mixing, colour theory and the formal elements of line, tone, texture and space.
It will teach you the process and application of watercolour, stimulate and generate new ideas for paintings. You will be introduced to new ways of seeing, thinking and working and you will be encouraged to develop your own individual styles and methods.
Your tutor will give you more information about the course at your first session.

This flexible and enjoyable course is open to everyone.
No prior experience is necessary and all abilities are welcome, especially beginners.
You should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English both for health and safety reasons and to enable you to follow tutor’s instruction.
Additional information
For your first session, please bring A4 Sketchbook and pencil selection/putty rubber, any watercolour materials already owned. You are advised not to purchase text-books or equipment until the course is confirmed.
Extra costs: You will need to supply a selection of your own materials on this course. Your tutor will provide the list of materials at your first session.
