Does the thought of writing letters, sending emails or filling in forms fill you with dread?

Many people struggle with writing for a huge number of reasons. At Sutton College we are committed to providing fun and effective ways to help you improve these everyday skills.

This short 12 week course is intended for those who want some extra help with their Writing skills but is for those with relatively good reading and writing skills already.
Our English Skills courses are aimed at those whose first language is English or those who have already gained an ESOL Level 1 qualification.

If you do not have either of these, we have a wide range of ESOL classes to cater for all needs.

During this course you will learn how to:

- Develop good study habits
- Use grammar correctly
- Write sentences using a range of punctuation correctly
- Communicate written information clearly and logically
- Use appropriate format and structure when writing
- Spell words used most often in work, study and daily life, including specialist words
- Write consistently and accurately in complex sentences, using paragraphs where appropriate
- Apply these skills to life and work
This is a Level 2 course for those with good English Reading and Writing skills.
Our English Skills courses are aimed at those whose first language is English or those who have already gained an ESOL Level 1 qualification.
If you do not have either of these, we have a wide range of ESOL classes to cater for all needs.

For your Course Approval session, you need to:

  • Bring accepted ID in the form of either a UK passport or printout of your e-visa showing residency status
  • Bring proof of benefit dated within the last 3 months or most recent payslip /tax return if claiming the concessionary fee
  • Ensure you meet all previous educational requirements to attend this course
  • Bring copies of previous exam certificates
