Take a step towards developing your computing skills to help you with work and at home, whether it's using emails, searching for information, creating and editing documents used in the workplace or how to back up data.

This course will develop your digital skills for work with a secondary focus on digital skills for life.
On this course, you will cover:
Using devices and handling information
* Know that is meant by hardware, software, operating systems and applications
* Finding information
* Storing and managing information
* Solving simple technical problems
Creating and Editing
* Use a suitable application to enter, edit and format information
* Capture and save images, sound and video.
Communicating
* Create, edit and use contacts when sending and receiving online communications
* Identify the types of digital activities that leave a ‘digital footprint’
Transacting (Buying things online)
* Complete and submit a form as part of an online transaction
* Buy an item/service online using a chosen method of online payment.
Being safe and responsible online
* Identify situations where personal information may be stored by devices and online
* Be aware of online risks and threats
* Configure and use secure ways to access devices and online services.
* Know how to report concerns with online content.
* Recognise and minimise the effects of physical stresses of being online
Learning Aim: Z0011145 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor.
