This introductory qualification is suitable for trainers in the private sector or those looking to work within Further Education colleges and the post 16 sector. The course is designed for those who are not currently in a teaching, training or support role but would like to enter the profession as well as those who might already be delivering some training and would like to obtain a nationally recognised qualification. The course content consists of:
* Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
* Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
* Understanding assessment in education and training
The course is assessed by both the assembling of a portfolio of evidence, and the planning, delivery and evaluation of microteaching sessions. Both are mapped against a set assessment criteria.
You will receive ongoing feedback and will be given clear guidance on how to include all the necessary information to meet the unit criteria and improve your work.
Sessions are interactive and as well as information delivered by the course tutor will consist of discussions, group work and presentations.
The course is quite demanding. You must be prepared to study and research at home in order to progress and be able to develop your knowledge and your professionalism.
