Floristry – Level 1 Award in Floral Design (NCFE)

This NCFE Level 1 Creative Craft in Floral Design course is ideal for anyone interested in building practical skills in floral design from the bottom up.

This course is suitable for the hobbyist who wants to perfect the techniques of professional florists as well as those who are aiming to become industry professionals.

Start on an exciting journey of personal discovery and growth to learn more about flowers and to use them to create works of art.

Qualifying learners will be fully funded for this course, please enquire at enrolment if you have any eligibility queries.

ALL PLANT MATERIALS AND CONTAINERS NEEDED ARE INCLUDED IN THE COURSE FEE.
In this course you will develop basic practical skills, using a range of materials, in the planning, preparation, construction and presentation of floral designs.

You will learn to use techniques to create a variety of designs, ranging from tied designs, wired and glued and designs in a medium, as well as build your underpinning knowledge to take you to the next level.

This course is the stepping stone to higher courses which contain more complex floristry techniques and underpinning knowledge.

This course also covers an introduction to British Values (learning aim 6033398)
This is a Level 1 NCFE Course.

This course is suitable for complete beginners who are new to floristry.

If you have not completed the entry levels 1, 2 and 3 Creative Craft courses in floral design, you may like to consider doing them first, however, you only need to be interested in floral design to start at this level.

You will need to have basic Maths and English and digital skills to complete the assignments and will complete a final assessment towards the end of the course to gain certification.

Additional information:
Please bring the following to class: - Apron, Small towel, Camera, Carrier to take your designs home.

You will need a floristry tool kit containing the basic tools for floristry.

You have the option of purchasing a competitively priced tool kit through the college.

Further information about this will be given to you once you have enrolled.
Fully funded learners will be provided with a tool kit for the duration of the course.

  • Bring accepted ID in the form of either a UK passport or printout of your e-visa showing residency status

  • Bring copies of previous exam certificates
