This course offers an easy and inspiring introduction to the Japanese art of Flower arranging, known as Ikebana. It is designed for anyone who is looking for connection with nature, slowing down and enjoying a mindful art form of arranging flowers in a minimal, expressive way. The sessions are welcoming and relaxed in a serene environment where you are encouraged to work at your pace and discover your innate personal creativity through flowers. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone curious about exploring a creative practice that brings calm, focus, and beauty into everyday life.
During the course, learners will be introduced to the core principles of Ikebana, including balance, line, space, and harmony. We will explore how to work thoughtfully with seasonal materials, how to create arrangements using traditional Ikebana techniques as well as developing your confidence in personal expression. By the end of the course you will have the fundamental skills to continue creating pieces independently.
This course is suitable for all abilities/complete beginners. No previous experience with flower arranging or art is required. Learners simply need a willingness to explore and enjoy a calm, creative activity. Basic English skills are essential to follow instructions and participate in group discussion, but no specialist (Ikebana) knowledge is needed.
