Start on an exciting journey of personal discovery and growth to learn more about flowers and to use them to create works of art.

This course is suitable for the hobbyist who wants to perfect the techniques of professional florists as well as those who are aiming to become industry professionals.

If you choose to progress in your floristry journey, this course is the stepping stone to higher level programmes that contain more complex floristry techniques and underpinning knowledge.

Either way, you are guaranteed to have fun with flowers and develop a range of skills that you can add to over your floristry career.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have already completed a Creative Craft qualification at this level you cannot be funded again regardless of the subject you intend to learn.
In this course you will develop practical skills using a range of materials in the planning, preparation, construction and presentation of floral designs.

You will learn to use techniques to create a variety of designs of increasing complexity as well as build your underpinning knowledge to take you to the next level including:

* Exploring the properties of available floristry materials
* Using different sources to explore floral design ideas
* Using visual language to communicate ideas
* Planning for the production of final floristry work
* Creating, presenting and reviewing your final floral design
* Maintaining a safe working environment

Learning Aim: Z0011145 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor.
This is a Level 1 course.

You will need to be working at Level 1 in your English skills to access the learning and complete the assessment tasks required.

If you do not achieve Level 1 in your English Skills Builder Assessment you must have a UK English Entry Level 3 qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.

This course is a qualification therefore you must attend all sessions and complete all assessment tasks to the required standard including a workbook demonstrating what you have learned and the costing of your designs.

Additional information:

Please bring a pen, pencil and paper to your class. Ensure you are wearing comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear for a practical craft course.
