This course is designed specifically for more mature learners who want to stay active and improve their health, especially those whose lives may be impacted by health conditions or social isolation.
Through this course, you will learn exercise techniques and skills that will help you increase flexibility, build strength, and improve balance and coordination—vital elements for staying active and independent.

This course covers:
Warm-Up Techniques: Learn how to properly mobilize your joints and prepare your body for exercise, preventing injury and improving performance.
Breathing Techniques: Discover how controlled breathing can enhance your exercise routine and overall wellbeing.
Posture and Body Awareness: Improve your posture and develop greater awareness of how your body moves.
Strength and Endurance: Perform exercises that help maintain and increase muscular strength, joint flexibility, balance, and agility.
Coordinated Movement: Build coordination through a variety of simple and safe exercises.
Stretching and Relaxation: Learn how to stretch and relax effectively, promoting better flexibility and reducing tension.
Exercise Modifications: Exercises will be tailored to your individual level and needs, ensuring they are both challenging and achievable.
Tailored for more mature learners: Designed specifically for older adults, taking into account individual health needs, goals, and aspirations.
Promote Long-Term Health: Through regular participation, you will gain the benefits of a more active lifestyle, improving both your physical and mental wellbeing.

This course is designed to include a mixed level of ability where your tutor will offer adaptations and progressions with each exercise movement delivered.
Learners new to exercise are welcome as are those with experience.
Participants are encouraged to work at their own level and pace, which may vary from week to week.
Additional information:
Please wear loose fitting, layered comfortable clothing suited to exercising.
For example, tracksuit bottoms, active-wear leggings, t-shirts or sports vests.
All exercises will be performed wearing trainers.
Please bring a water bottle with a secure cap.
You will need to bring your own exercise mat to class.
It is advised that learners prepare for safe practice by not eating a large meal for at least 2 hours before the class, however you may wish to eat something small prior to the start of the class to provide you with an energy boost.
As this is a subsidised course you will be required to complete mandatory, audited documentation which your tutor will support you with.
Learners new to exercise are welcome as are those with experience.
Participants are encouraged to work at their own level and pace, which may vary from week to week.
